Yeah.........family are a tender bunch. I'm learning to talk in a really (and literally) quiet voice when the subject of politics comes up. People tend to listen better when I do.

Politics are a non issue in our family as I am alone. What I will not tolerate is my leftist brother in law running down Bush or Sarah. I do not sit silent if he starts.

He's still on the other side and it's caused a rift in the family. The reason God gives us friends is to make up for family.

All the people I love but with whom I disagree subscribe to a policy that we don't talk politics. My oldest and dearest friend, whom I would die for, disagrees with me too. I don't talk politics with him much. His father is my life-time hero, and I just let everything roll off my back without reacting. I am puzzled, however, because their private business and financial behavior is absolutely capitalistic and reflective of my views, but they have drunk the Obama Koolaid and O can do no wrong. I have to believe that the news they receive is limited, and comes from academic circles. That could explain everything.
