I have been openly critical of the current health bill, but not universally so, like you. There are good things in it, but also stupid things. Unlike you, I believe that a little government subsidization of social good can be a good thing. Like health care. But I would love to see market pricing allowed for risk factors. We can make it illegal to deny coverage, but don't make it illegal to charge someone for risk factors that are completely within that person's control like smoking and high cholesterol and BMI.
