The first, right populism, tends to be more ethnic/nationalist grounded. Patriots/treason/etc. are dividing words. The left tends to be more economically focused in which rich/poor and Wall Street/Main Street become the dividers.

I believe you are right.

And, even with their mutual interest in "retaking America" I can't imagine the two fringes ever becoming allies.

Would make for an interesting, three-way civil war.
