Either accept that Israel and US' unequivocal support of Israel is a big part of why the Jihadists are targeting US, or provide a reason why we should not believe them when they state that as their reasoning.

Oh.. I believe it is.

But what I don't accept is sacrificing the existence of a democratic state, and especially one that has shown economic vitality and innovation.

Apparently you do.

Hitler also believed the Jews were the cause for many of the problems of Germany and made it a major part of his policy to rid Europe of them.

Were we supposed to "accept" such a notion merely to avoid war with Germany?

Like I mentioned to Sarman... I would have far more sympathy for the Palestinian cause if it was more focused on emulating and exceeding the Israeli example for economic growth and positive social change instead of creating a "state of (self-)destruction" and aggression.

Recall that Turkey is technically a Muslim country. It's also a democracy, as well as a member of NATO. As long as it remains such, I would honor our obligations to defend it's sovereignty as much as I would Israel.

I don't find it strange that Turkey and Israel have formed a strong relationship with one another.
