Yes.....but let me correct myself....smallest number during a midterm year. I think it was 538 or DKos who did an analysis.....if I remember correctly, they showed numbers for the last 4 midterm elections. Right now, I think there are 25 congressmen retiring en toto from both the House and Senate. Whereas in 2008, in the House alone, 27 Rs and 6 Dems retired.

In that same year, another 6 or 7 retired from the Senate for a grand total of 39-40 retirees. So at 25 the number this year is not that high.......at least not so far.
