>> If he was out to stop the proliferation of WMD, why not North Korea? Why not Iran?

It wasn't "just" about WMD. It was about stopping terrorism, and NK wasn't useful for that purpose and Iran was out of reach at the time because GWB couldn't get the UN to move on it.

GWB was trying to proliferation in Iran his entire time in office until the last 18 months. But England and France were totally roadblocking everything that happened in the UN.

We already had plenty of justification for taking out Iraq; they were, after all, in violation of the ceasefire agreement which gave us the right and responsibility -- as early as '94, to go back in and finish the job. Unfortunately, we had a president who didn't want to stir that pot at the time.

I think if you open your mind you can come to see that the Iraq War was not only justified but smart. Certainly, history will judge it that way. History, of course, filters out the extreme Left and Right, leaving the picture of what actually transpired. (well, other than the Howard Zinns of the world).

They sold us a bill of goods and they wasted $1 trillion of tax payer money. The only ones that made out like bandits were the US oil and military contractors.

So that's why you switched from republican to democrat, to sell us a bill of goods, wasting $4 trillion of tax payer money. The only ones that made out like bandits were the politicians embezzling the money for themselves.

Your ability to spin gymnastics is noted. We invaded to steal their oil, but then realized, wait, the Muslims will notice so we'd better not do it after all.

Geez. You really have to drink a lot of koolaid to believe that.

If he was out to stop the proliferation of WMD, why not North Korea? Why not Iran?

Would you have gone along with that? NK and Iran really are threats. If the support for Bush hadn't fallen off, he might have been able to do more about those countries. As it is, Kaddafi was scared into abandoning his nuke program.

We had Saddam pinned down in no fly zones. Saddam was powerless.

If you read the Threatening Storm, which made the case for invasion, or the press at the time, you'd know the pins were coming unstuck, particularly the embargo.
