So what?

Do people need to stay home and not go out until they get a job again? What if the spouse works a stressful job and needs a vacation? The unemployed one cannot go until they get a job? The only result of this would be a burned out spouse.

These are productive members of society who are temporarily derailed. I see no problem with them taking a break, as I know many people out of work and would not wish this on anyone.
