Oct. 28 1997 from next-generation.com
After originally cancelling plans for a Playstation version of Quake, it looks like its back on.
Sources have indicated the developers of the PlayStation version of Quake didn't think the system had enough RAM to handle what would be required of the system. Following a lengthy investigation into the game's feasibility, the team has re-evaluated its position and said that it was going to give it another go.

Sony officials report that they have shipped more than 22.5 million units of the PlayStation worldwide

More revenues !!!
Cheers
Bill

Yeah, I was figuring about $44 a piece but either way still some pretty good bucks for a game over one quarter. Don't see it slipping dramatically for a month or so. I haven't bothered with the X-Men d/l yet. I dumped Quake off my system a while ago and don't know if I want to go through the trouble of installing it again. Maybe you can convince me it's worth the effort. Let's keep our fingers crossed on today's numbers. I figure all we need to do is meet expectations and we'll be sitting pretty good. Hey, there was one thing more. I have noticed that there have been a LOT of commercials for Magic: The Gathering (the actual card game, not the PC game) on TV. Can't say this would be bad for the PC game and it's freebie advertising!
