Brian,
Investors are waiting for better bargains, after all the
stock has dropped from around $50 (post split) to $33 or
so. At $24-27 the price is a great deal, many investors
who got "burned" in the last drop are waiting for things
to stabilize in the markets/foreign markets so they don't
get caught in another drop. People are turning to cash
to pick selected bargains as they appear. AMAT will likely
trade between $32-38 before earnings are announced. The
bargains will be after that for a few weeks.

Just my opinion,
BB
