So the greater morality and ethics is found among atheists. For those Atheists who deny elevating their own aspirations over their brethren, there is a greater morality. Because it's contrary to natural law where the strong survive, led normally by an Alpha Male (A-M). And I think this is one of the fundamental reasons we constantly see totalitarian regimes coming into fruition. It represents the "alpha male" representing the collective good of the "tribe". As for tribal collectivism, I would agree that groups offer greater protection that solitary existence. But that tribe's primary purpose as an entity is to expand it's territorial control in order to control more vital resources. One tribe will defeat another, absorb the women and children which expands the gene pool, and expand until it pushes against another's tribal borders. That's pretty much the history of mankind right there.. ;0) Thus, we transition from tribals to nations, and then to nation/states. Some of these nation/states are based upon ethnicity, language, and possibly religion, while others are based upon shared values, and ideals (USofA), which aligns with your, let's say "secular" view of moral self-interested social behavior. But those societies led by "Alpha Male" indviduals, or power elite acting as the A-M carry on the expansion which benefits and safeguards their self-interests. America is no different. We see our collective interests being secured only by eliminating A-M totalitarian oriented rivals. We can only truly be safe in a world that recognizes and respects the will of the individual. And that will must be represented by a representative government(s) that are accountable to the will of those people. Hawk
