A post-possession foul normally comes into play after a ball is kicked away. The moment the ball passes the line of scrimmage, possession is considered to have been relinquished. But that's a voluntary act. Obviously possession is not ceded in the middle of a pass. Therefore, I would think possession is not ceded automatically on a fumble. It's considered post possession only when there's a change of possession. This seems logical to prevent teams who just fumbled from doing illegal acts in an effort to trade a penalty for possession. Therefore, if the facemask had been called, it would have resulted in Green Bay keeping the ball, IMO. - Jeff
