Same way you extracted what you did from Rush's words.

At face value, Rush was simply saying that McNabb was overrated. There were no "insidious" messages to white viewers that a black QB "is getting something at the expense of whites." That's just tin-foil hat nonsense.

Imagine if Rush said what Reid did. You would have a whole different reaction.

If I were to guess, this is Rush's spin on things. He never owned up to his remark on ESPN and has done his best to spin it as if he was a victim. This would be just an extension of that spin.

That is the thing about the neos. They are big on claiming they are being victimized. Taking responsibility for themselves just isn't in their lexicon.
