The problem is we have so few jobs that pay decent for adults trying to raise a family. I had mixed feelings when they raised the min wage here in colorado a couple of years ago. I feel its terrible pay for someone working full time raising a family, but I think a lower wage is great for a High school kid's first job. I don't know how the fast food places can make it paying min wage to everyone working there. I agree that there are alot of jobs lost for kids because small Businesses can't afford to pay that much and I'm sure there are teenagers who would be happy with $5/hr just to have a job.
