ASND now needs to merge/be bought. It's clear that they cannot flourish on their own. Growth in their core RAS franchise is leveling off, and competition is increasing. And they seem to lack the wherewithal to make offsetting inroads into the high-end router market. On the other hand, they still seem like an attractive candidate for purchase: if somebody wants to try to put together an end-to-end networking product line to compete with CSCO, ASND seems like it supplies some big pieces of the puzzle.
