"Let me know when Obama actually pursues policies that expand nuclear energy."

There are problems with expanding nuclear energy. Without breeders of some type, we only have a couple or three decades supply. And it lasts that long only if we don't build more.

Personally, I'd like to see a full court press on Polywell, especially if they can demonstrate P-B11 fusion. $200 million, tops for a 100MW plant that fits on a large parking lot. As far as gambles go, it is a small one with a huge potential payoff.

The nice thing about P-B11(proton-boron11) is no fast neutrons from the primary reaction. Just He4 nuclei which can be tapped directly for electricity. And heat, of course.
