>> use Bing as my default search engine, because of google's censorship <<

Google wasn't the first. Yahoo had already been censoring in China. And Bing in China probably is, too.

What makes you think any search engine in China is uncensored?

>>Not that Google would ever manipulate their data. Here, you can prove it yourself. Goto to Google.com and key in the search field, “Christianity is” and see all the auto suggestions like “Christinaity is bullshit” that come up. Then try it with any other religion, except Islam. When you are done with the world’s religions, try “Islam is.” Huh? There is nothing there.<<

I don't know that this is conclusive of anything. Just for fun, I typed "islam bull" in the google search window, and I got "Islam bullshit" and "Islamic bullshit" among the results.

Those search suggestions are compiled from searches people actually perform. So maybe few people search for "Islam is". I think it's a stupid thing to enter in a search window, anyway. If you want to know what Islam is, you can just type in "Islam." And watch what happens if you type in "Muslim terror".

FYI, I don't get "Hinduism is bullshit" if I type in "hinduism is". In fact, I get slightly different results with each religion I try, which is consistent with results that are populated based on what people search for.

Apple To Dump Google For Bing On iPhone?

By Eric Savitz

Wednesday, January 20, 2010 ET

Apple (AAPL) is in talks with Microsoft (MSFT) on a deal for Bing to replace Google (GOOG) as the default search engine on the iPhone, Bloomberg reports, citing “two people familiar with the matter.”

The story says talks have been under way for weeks, could take a while to be completed and could still fall apart. Bloomberg notes the the talks reflect the intensifying rivalry between Apple and Google.
