its only an opt out of the mandate not the whole program It's a small part of the legislation but I think it's an important principle. What we have going now is establishing the notion that citizens can be forced to buy insurance. I think that's a big deal. If you can opt out, however, you aren't establishing any such thing. I think the difference matters. Doesn't make me like the program any more, but at least it would save one principle.
