It is also very reasonable to point out that 75% of the debt on the books was signed into law by Republican Presidents. Its not unreasonable, but it sounds meaningful when really its almost meaningless. Your talking about essentially two or three presidents, none of whom had total control of the budget, and none of whom ran deficits as large compared to the economy as FDR or even Obama. Also its a point that will shortly be false as Obama piles on debt.
