There are plenty of great charities helping the Haitians. I would never ask Obama which one to choose. I start with my religious organization which takes it from there. For those who are not regular church goers the American Red Cross is a good choice.

America is the most generous nation on earth. We have the most generous people on earth.

What is offensive about pointing out that donating through the government would likely result in a reduction of the money going to support Haiti?

Rush:
"I did not say, 'Don't make donations." I said private donations are going to be much better than a government donation. Go to the Red Cross, do other things, but don't go through the government. It's just going to go through hands and bureaucracies and $1 is going to end up being 30 cents by the time they get through with it."

>> Limbaugh also seems to feel we've done enough already for Haiti: "We've already donated to Haiti. It's called the U.S. income tax."

Personally, I think we [US taxpayers] ought to provide free health insurance for all Haitians.

These people are, undeniably, amongst the most downtrodden in the world, and I cannot understand how Americans can stand idly by while these poor people suffer.

If we can provide free health care for Nebraskans, $30 Billion to allow Floridians to keep their premium Medicare plans while the rest of us get "plain" Medicare, and $300 Million for Louisiana, why in HELL would we not provide free medical care for people located only 700 miles from our coast?

These people are destined to suffer why? Because they HAPPEN to be stuck on a nearby island?
