Both assertions are expressions of opinion and defendable not gaffes like Obama's mistake about Arabic speakers in Afghanistan, the Austrian language, the number of US states or insincere campaign promises like the CSPAN coverage of health care negotiations.

Obama is "trying to pretend we are not at war"

Obama is seeking "social transformation -- the restructuring of American society."

Btw, don't even liberals claim the second one is true?
