9:17 AM Oracle: Massive Job Cuts Ahead At Sun?
Posted by Eric Savitz

Oracle (ORCL) could chop the workforce at Sun Microsystems (JAVA) in half once it complete the pending acquisition of the company - resulting in the lost of 13,800 jobs. The dire forecast comes from a report earlier this week by UBS analyst Brent Thill which was picked up by Bloomberg.

Oracle is still seeking EU approval to complete the deal. A ruling is expected by January 27.
