You're right -- I didn't add any debt at all since I did my refi around 2002, and so owe quite a bit less now than then. But the debt bubble is costing me plenty -- or WILL when the inflation to account for all the givaways occurs.

And those policies have cost millions of jobs, and I'm guessing millions more good jobs before the cancer has run it's course. We'll awaken to the new, leaner and meaner America, where Boeing 787 jets are being built by workers earning $14 per hour. Including benefits.

Those that caused the problem should all have been allowed to fail. There are no doubt many great elements in the banking sector, and those with sane, sound management would be leading that sector's recovery instead of getting saddled with far higher fees for insurance.
