2M more shares is roughly an increase of around 12%, which really isn't to much.

Actually, the shares being offered by the company are only 1mm shares (6% dilution). The balance (1.5 mm) are existing shareholders, probably early investors and perhaps officers of the company. Remember that these investors were probably in a few bucks / share and simply need to take some money off the table.
