Thanks, K., really very nice. But I already splurged for a paperback... :)

On the last link, found one mistake on Page 1, where he quotes Pushkin:

"Strike me dead, the track has vanished, Well, what now? We've lost the way, Demons have bewitched our horses, Led us all in the wilds astray"

The mistake is that the date couldn't be 1916, it must have been written much earlier. Pushkin died in 1837, at the age of 37.

Curious anecdote about Pushkin's African connection:

Pushkin's great-grandfather, was Abram Petrovich Gannibal (1696 - 1781), a page raised by Peter the Great who was born in Lagon, Eritrea.[8][9][10][11][12] After education in France as a military engineer, Abram Gannibal became governor of Reval and eventually General-en-Chef for the building of sea forts and canals in Russia.

Started reading the "Devils". Good book, good writing, subtle humor... nice, clean fun. Makes me feel nostalgic for the times when I used to talk less and read more... :)
