I'm wondering how the 1906 SF earthquake compares to Haiti....I read that 700 people died, but how were people counted? Someplace, I heard that people and building debris were just deposited into the newly created landfill in the Bay...It would be interesting to see what was different from SF in those years versus Haiti today? Certainly, we didn't have the cranes, and bulldozers we have available now. The people in Haiti seem to be having trouble even finding a shovel. So very sad...
