In any case, I think we should take our "profits" ASAP and break up those banks. Like it's gonna happen...

I don't know if its an issue of breaking up the banks so much as it is of regulating them. I don't care how big they are so long as someone is watching and making sure they are not pulling stunts like they pulled a few years ago. The common belief that bankers are conservative businessmen was turned on its head during the subprime mess.

What I would also like to see is a rethinking of the prevalent attitude in this country that everything to do with capitalism is automatically a good thing. I would like to see a new economic system developed.....a hybrid of capitalism maybe......where the excesses of capitalism are reduced. I find it unacceptable that disparate people.....like A-Rod, Jay Leno, university chancellors, corp. ceos, Christian Bale etc make small fortunes each year while there are people so poor they go to bed hungry each nite and the middle class in this country feels more and more beleaguered. This idea that these humongous salaries are inevitable thanks to the concept of market supply and demand is a bunch of crap. I don't believe anyone is so good at what they do that they deserve $20-30 million per year to do it.
