I agree. You faulted both Bush and Obama and that is exactly correct. And this upcoming Budget is all Obama's. He could be doing something about the deficits and debt, but I don't see any effort at all really. So he's living up to the Dem caricature.

However, the fact is that he inherited the mess. That no one can deny. I just wish he'd now do something about it. Health care should have never been a first year priority. It should have been all about getting out of the wars in the Middle East, debt/deficit reduction, renewable energy, and jobs.

BTW, the one worthwhile thing that Bush ALMOST did was when he got elected in 2004, he said he had a mandate to fix social security. I thought finally the GOP was going to use their majority in both houses and the WH to get one of my top priorities done, which is to privatize social security. And then he couldn't get it done. Just another example of Bush's failure to do anything substantive to help this country. The GOP is the only party willing to privatize SS and now they won't be in power again for a long while. Chalk that failure up to Bush and the GOP.

So he failed at fixing one entitlement and he made the other entitlement (Medicare) even more fiscally irresponsible with his prescription drug plan. Oh yes, Bush is VERY responsible for a lot of the deficit and debt mess we're in now. And now the Dems have a chance to fix it, but the odds are low that they will.
