Tax cuts are good. They are the one thing you can do to the economy that are stimulative.

>>> and an increase to one of those entitlements you blather about.

While I opposed Part D at the time, it turned out to be a very cost-effective program and I had turned back toward supporting it. But now, I see that is a mistake -- not because of the program itself, but because the Democrats in their legislation will corrupt the program and make it fiscally irresponsible.

The program as originally implemented was the best government health care program in existence. But the Ds couldn't leave it alone. I foolishly thought that the Bush plan would stand and at a cost of some $30 Billion/year, the country would getting value for it. After Obamacare that won't be the case.

I would never warm to such legislation again because I now realize something I didn't before -- no matter how fiscally responsible a bill is, the Left will corrupt it given enough time -- in this case, only a few years.

He passed the Medicare prescription drug plan which added to our deficits.

To put it in perspective, for the five or so years Part D has been in operation the increase in deficit has totaled a small fraction of what was blown in Obama's first month in office. And the country DID benefit from it, unlike the Obama stimulus.

Not only that but he had the opportunity to fix SS with his GOP majorities in both houses in 2004

He really didn't. He tried, the legislative support wasn't there. What was he to do?

They resulted in record tax revenues.

Republicans are for freedom, democrats are for creating a new Soviet Union.
