Sunset of empire is not sunrise of gold. Many things conspire against gold (and it is not QCOM, MQ!!) If people move into gold real good, in droves, com gusto, as soon as gold dries up liquidity, as people sell USD and grab gold, thus undermining fiat currencies, governments will step in making: Illegal to hold, transport and trade gold. Such financial issue is accepted by the public, noting that by then publci will be scared to complain about government púnishing spculators. Compare that with holding farmland and property where government (gorging in propety taxes) will protect you rights as long as you buy and sell legally and pay your taxes.
