Yes, you may. Although information flows real fast, the capability of the news making and public opinion forming is a factor to take into consideration.

The reason for that is not that people are stupid not to see reality. It is fear of the unknown. Home bias. And denying what they did not saw possible.

Then there are those who grasped the essence. Those will profit handsomely.
