It's still Representative Paul, at least when it comes to foreign policy. Defense budgets, historically, run about 3-6% of our GDP. That isn't an excessive amount, notwithstanding the penurious spending of other countries that depend on us. If you're suggesting that our allies should spend more to assist us, I'd agree in principle.

OTOH, if you think we could just cut our defense spending without significant negative ramifications, and regardless of what the rest of the world is doing, then I'd have to disagree.
