re: Aussie vs. CA gold production.

It's like comparing apples and oranges.
Aussie production costs are due to the low yield per tonnage.
They consider a "good" yield at 4-5 GRAMS per tonne.

Some of the yeilds I found that they considered a GREAT find, were at 10-12 GRAMS/ton.

You can quickly see the difference when CA hardrock mines are yielding in OUNCES per tonnage.

It is my understanding that Aussie mines are of the openpit variety that require movement of HUGE amounts of material to extract the gold.

CA mining is of the hardrock or Placer variety which both yield MUCH larger amounts of gold per tonne.

Where are you getting the 1oz/tonne figure?

That seems VERY optimistic. For comparison, One of the best producing hardrock mines in CA is yielding 0.8oz/tonne.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it is my understanding that BCMD is moving 60 tonnes now, with plans to move much more with the introduction of a JV.

I would be ecstatic if they can AVERAGE 0.5oz/tonne (which I thought was the figure that was being tossed about earlier.)

Just went back and reread my notes. Now I see where you got the 1.0oz/tonne figure. Thats for the pillars.

They expect the other parts to average the same yield as the Golden Gate. I thought I remembered that being in the 0.5oz/tonne range. Have to go look some more.

Bottom line- We had a VERY nice move today. Accumulation is STRONG and it is obvious that someone knows something.
