Mary, .<<. but you don't know the query that I've made to extract..>> I "may be making assumptions that may not be valid", but if your query engine is located on server, the time to download results is still bounded by the speed of network, no matter how fast your CPU is. Similarly, if you are running the query engine on your local PC but the data files are stored across your network, I would not call this systems design as very smart, softly speaking...
