demolishing a building, in particular one with steel supports, requires a highly trained, significant presence for a long period of prep time. You can't just stuff your pockets with some explosives and pretend you are repair personnel. It requires more extensive effort than that. Having the building simply function while this prep work is undertaken is not feasible. Nor is it feasible no one would speak of it.

As I already stated there was a lot of chaotic reporting that day. I recall numerous reports of the Towers themselves collapsing before they actually did collapse. This was just non eye witness reporting.
