They are actually somewhat surrounded with Moslems to the north in Yugoslavia. Since Islamic Jihad is quite clear in their geopolitical intentions and have been successful for 1000 years, it's not unlikely that an expansionary determination could once again become the dominant issue in Islamic ideology. It's not as though the Moslem countries are short of men to man the rank and file and form the spear head of an invasion force. Adolf wanted a 1000 Year Reich. Mohammed achieved it, and more. <Does the country really need 1,700 battle tanks, 420 combat jets, and eight submarines? To fight NATO ally Turkey? Merely to pose the question is to enter dangerous waters. > In 1974, my wife and I drove from Greece to Turkey and as we approached the border, we wondered why there was so much military equipment around. Over the border in Turkey there were tanks hiding under hay and much more than the normal armed police that we had become accustomed to since leaving NZ. In Portugal there was actual gunfire. They had their political revolution while we were there. We didn't have newspapers, tv, radio and certainly no mobile cyberspace. We learned the news from the activities around us. In NZ, the police at the time were unarmed other than with a truncheon and I don't think they even carried those as a matter of course. It was disconcerting to see the hostile way of life overseas. Later I learned about Cyprus and later still about the history of Moslem conquest right up into France, up towards Russia, across to China, to Indonesia, down through Africa. Now, they are populating Europe as an economic force, but the Trojan horse Islamic ideology lurks within. When they have the numbers, it would be reasonable for them to convert Europe to the way of life they prefer. That might not suit Europeans. Too bad for the Europeans. History has not yet finished.
