Iraq - "They have the potential to boost production by many millions of bpd."

But do they? I've seen press releases discussing production numbers up to 12 million bbls/day for Iraq but don't believe it. Don't believe 6 million bbls/day either...

Where are these fabled untouched and easily exploitable reserves in Iraq?

As Simmons discusses in "Twilight", the largest fields are usually discovered first (kings and queens) while the smaller satellite fields are discovered soon thereafter. I'm sure there will be several significant discoveries but nothing that will allow Iraq to dramatically increase production.
