Krugman's reference to Reagan with regards to jobs and job restoration is what I don't agree with. Instead I would draw attention to Clinton where he convened a jobs creation summit in Little Rock right after his victory and before his swearing in. When he was sworn in, he had a blueprint to create jobs. Obama, on the other hand had no blueprint even for health care, his pet issue. So unprepared was he that it started to show by way of the massive demonstrations staged by the insurance industry during last summer. Obama has good ideas (his personal popularity remains high). But he has nobody on board who has a demonstrated ability of putting those ideas into action.
