Who asked IBM if they were interested, they did a potential market research and came back with a number of only 200 or so...and politely declined. That's how Rank Xerox happened.

Then we have Ken Olsen of DEC, who said, that some day a computer would only weigh 2 tons or something like that.

And, "why would any private person be interested in having his own computer"?

I am sure CJ can do some in depth Wiki research and come back with the real stories and quotes for us.
