The toe cancer idea is a place holder - a sort of nominal disease. Fix toe cancer, and maybe the same drug can effect a couple of the other 276 or so cancers.

So we find the toe cancer company, and pick up shares before it becomes obvious that it might work for colon, lung, or skin.

Each of those is a several billion dollar market, and even a piece is means several hundred million per year, meaning the stock valuation can be a couple of billion.

The various cancers may become vulnerable based on new understandings of gene expression, and other tools.

The expansion of cancers is being slowed by drugs which inhibit new blood vessels.

There are some targeted therapies that can cause the immune system to attack cancer.

Optimistically, we might see 10-30% of the cancer types become treatable/curable in a period of a few years.
