But America does consider Israel an occupying power and wants Israel to give back lands to the Palestinians.

The US considers A LOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS.

The US considers Hamas to be a terrorist organization and we're engaged in a "War against Terror", especially militant Muslim organizations like Hamas. Since the Palestinians elected Hamas, technically the Palestinian people support terrorism.

The US also considers that Israel is a sovereign country, which means they have a right to exist.

Israel is at war with the Palestinians (or at least those in Gaza). There's a cease-fire, but they are still at war.

Thus, saying that they are an occupying power is true.

But it's NOT UP TO THE US as to what they want Israel to do to achieve peace. They can attempt to influence events, or prevent the Israelis from antagonizing the situation by building more settlements on the West Bank. But they CANNOT force Israel to accept a unilateral solution that does not create peace.

The "power elite" within the Palestinian/Arab world DO NOT WANT PEACE. They've ALREADY STATED THAT. They want Israel wiped out because they believe that Israel is part of "Dar Al-Islam" and they can never rest until they control it again.

I know you cranial processor can only understand boolean logic.

But that's not how the world works.

And btw, I'm American and I don't think we should permit a Palestinian state to be created unless it meets internationally acceptable criteria for acceptable behavior (democratic, peaceful, etc).

And I'm certainly not inclined to do so when Palestinian leaders are calling for the conquest of the US.
