Paul, you really are brilliant. There never was a shortage of AMD K6-233's, Thechipmerchant.com just removed them from their price list to fit it on one screen page. Also, AMD is now selling K6-233's in a box with a fan to clean out their excess inventory of 233's.

Maybe its just a little more likely that AMD expects to have a lot of K6-233's soon. BTW, if you've never heard of the kind of deal for rebates worked out with Microsoft, its called cooperative marketing.

Oh, yeah? AMD poor sales taking all INTC's sub-$1,000 PC market.

Today's news -- Hambrecht & Quist downgrades INTC from "buy" to "hold," citing lack of presence in the sub-$1,000 PC market.
Christmas is coming and the gift of sub-$1,000 PC will sell like a hot cake.
