My uncle was a seabee in WW 2 he was one of the first on a Japanese held island(can't remember which one) when he had a couple of hours off he and some buddies (under machine gun fire) crawl to an former Japanese officer shack. He found a Chinese vase, carried it back (under machine gun fire) mailed it back to my aunt in the states, telling her it might be a Ming Dynasty vase and worth 1000s. Every letter he wrote home he asked if the vase was ok, my aunt didn't have the courage to tell him that on the bottom of the vase it said "made in the USA". He found out when he got home.
