on MSNBC Mike Barnicle just said Congressman Ed Markey would have easily defeated candidate Scott Brown by at least 10 % points...Not sure why the Dems didn't run a stronger candidate to fill the all important Senate position that Ted Kennedy had.

She's not a weak candidate. Most people in MA think she's a competent AG. She just ran a lousy campaign. For nearly a month after she won the primary in mid December, she did very little. Meanwhile, her opponent, Brownie, was going gangbusters trying to draw a connection between him and JFK Sr whom he resembles somewhat. It was only a week ago she came alive when the polls started to turn against her. And the idiot who ran her campaign tried today to blame Obama and the Nat. Dems. And did I mention her gaffes.......ie she said Schilling was a Yankee's fan. One of several bloopers she let lose in the past week or so.

Its a crying shame. Because the race is much closer than polls were predicting. Had she had a decent campaign she probably would have won....and she may still but only if its a long nite.

Good point. However, the way the Dems took the defeat is highly commendable.
