You support democracy in the Middle East, don't you ?

Yep!! And when the population there decided to elect a party that, in its own charter, and public pronouncements, declares that they will always be at war with Israel, they essentially share the same fate, and deservedly so.

Hitler was elected as well.. And the German people suffered tremendously for that act of foolishness.

Btw, remember back then we had few qualms about firebombing entire cities full of German civilians in an effort to destroy the German people's will to fight. Hamburg, Dresden.. etc.

We killed MILLIONS of them, both on the battlefield and in their cities. All because both the Germans (and Japanese) wanted to dominate their respective geological and demographic regions.

And I like Germans (and Japanese). Don't hold a grudge against either people. In fact, I like most Russians, but I was trained that they would be my most likely enemy on the battlefield.

And I hope, someday, that I'll have the chance to tour Palestine and Lebanon and positively interact with the people living there. In fact, I hope that they figure out that that "forever war" is not the path to gaining the world's respect and support..

But until they do, their current fate is far better than that which we inflicted upon the Germans and Japanese for less sinister beliefs and ambitions.
