Barney is well liked in his very liberal district too, so he'll keep his seat. But he wants to keep his committee chairmanship as well. Otherwise he has to worry about all those nasty investigations into the colossal failures of Fannie and Freddie and the trillions it's costing all of us, that will get started once a Republican takes the chair of the House Finance Committee. Barney knows his hands are far from clean in that fiasco.
