Well the health care bills are an example of spending and spending and doing nothing for me, so I'd prefer nothing over that. They deserve to be slapped into next Tuesday for trying to pull that off.

If they ever decide to get serious about reforming health care maybe I'll give them a listen.

. If your idea of heaven is a government that does nothing except spend more and more and more without ever changing anything structural, you are in for a fun time.

Given that the liberal edge of the democrats wanted to spend much more than even Obama and given that the Brown win is likely to bring big big spending to an end (think Krugman) how do you get to the conclusion that we will .....spend more and more and more..... now? Don't you think that Brown will bring gridlock and along with gridlock comes fiscal sanity. Someone suggested that once Clinton met his health care roadblock that then nothing much was accomplished in his administration? Well something very significant was accomplished during the succeeding Clinton years and that was a balanced budget and the best of economic times. Think stock market in 1999.
