I wonder how much competition there is to get the job of inspecting pornography to see if it's illegal.

People dislike nosey, bossy authoritarians pushing them around. Watch faces in airports to see how much fun people are having. None.

The authorities just love Osama because now they can go wild with their wildest dreams, now including x ray vision to look through hot girls' clothes at their bodies. They love ordering people around, looking through their bags, being completely in charge of them. Better than they could have dreamed up when they were horrible little prats as 5 year olds. "You have to take off all your clothes and let me look through all your stuff and take what I want and you have to do everything I say."

It has little to do with "safety" and "security". It's to do with bossiness. Somebody can walk up to the huge crowd waiting for security, put down their suitcase, walk away and hey presto, the bomb will shut down the whole airport for days, and kill hundreds, not just a few people on one aircraft which won't disrupt anything else.

Heck, they wouldn't even need a big bomb. Just smoke bombs with notes from Al Qaeda saying "the next one is going to be BIG" would shut down the airports for days. "Can't be too safe you know."

Look how hysterical they go if somebody walks through a security door.
