I'm glad you say you make an exception for your parents in hating everyone like them. I hope its true. have a very good relationship with both my parents. We just don't agree on politics. You might learn a lesson from that ... that you don't have to hate people you disagree with politically. One thing I like about my family is that they always encouraged rationality and common sense over sheep like behavior. Which conflicts with your earlier statement ... "she is susceptible to the bully pulpit of Evangelical preachers, just like many people who have deep faith." So my divergent opinions are tolerated with good grace in my parent's house. I'm not surprised. Another lesson you could learn. Apparently, in your house they would beat you with a stick if you professed any disagreement with the GOP. That must explain your cowering in fear at anyone who dares to step away from the GOP party line. I come from a long line of Democrats. Its only been in recent years my folks (evangelical Christians) have started voting independently in national elections .... the Democratic embrace of abortion and gay marriage is the reason. I haven't told them about Kevin Jennings, the pedophilia promoting Obama czar ... why get them all stirred up?
