Fraud is a crime, even if it is scientists doing it for public money. It seems that the climatologists [as so many people do] started to confuse what they want for private benefit with the truth and public interest.

Maybe they really believed what they were doing but the emails suggested there was manipulation and skull-duggery going on, stopping people checking data, ditching original data and keeping only the "processed" data, resisting instead of welcoming others checking the data and the investigations and conclusions.

Many criminals wrap the flag around themselves. Many crooks cloak themselves in Christianity and other "Goodness". Environmentalism is big money and wrapping oneself in the cloak of environmentalist is a good way to loot the public purse or other benefactors.

It was only in the last decade that I realized that environmentalism had been adopted by collectivist Big Brother merchants as their standard for political gain. I had mistakenly thought environmental matters were a question of science and quality of life, not political ideology.

In 1983, Maggie Thatcher was a right-winger and was in the vanguard of Greenhouse Effect CO2 concerns. Now CO2 is left-winger ideology.
