Incidentally, the original draft of the Eisenhower speech reffed to "Military-Industrial-Congressional" complex. This is a more apt description. But he took out the word congressional to go a bit easier on the government.

There's a political system in the USA and as shown in the last couple of days, people can vote for change. They didn't want Ron Paul. If he had got 99.9999% of the vote, he'd have now been president, but he didn't. So people have got Obamamotors and Obamacare and loads of loot for "stimulated" people.

It has nothing to do with an imaginary conspiracy of a military industrial complex of Evil-Doing Industrialist Devils though your fervid imagination obviously leads you to that conclusion.

If people vote for politicians, they get what they vote for. It's surprising that people seem surprised that Obama is doing what he was obviously going to do.

Blaming gun makers for selling guns to people who love to buy them is silly. The politicians vote for umpty$billions to go to The Pentagon. If they vote for $10 to go then that's how much will go. If the public votes for $10 politicians then that's how much will go.

Dwight Eisenhower is now ancient history. I think I read his speech some years ago but don't recall any details other than the phrase. I am getting long in the tooth and have avidly followed geopolitical events for decades. I have changed from thinking along socialist lines in my ignorant youth before I had had much contact with governments.

Thanks for not refuting any of my points. I shall take that as agreement though you say they are "silly comments".
